" I always liked to talk about architecture as entertainment. if not do not blithely architeture. this joy is precisely the architecture, the satisfaction you feel. the thrill of the architecture makes you smile, laugh. life does not "  Alenjandro de la Sota Martinez

Alejandro de la Sota Martinez  (October 20, 1913 -14 February 1996) was a spanish Architect who was labeled as an "architecture in imperfection". His buildings are often  structurally bold, geometric in framework, austere and simple which are rooted in Modernism. His building surfaces often consist of highly decorative single material.

A beautiful example of his work is the Arvesu House (below) was built in 1955 as a retreat away from the busy and over crowed city. The home was screen by an overpowering woven liked brick wall as a divider from the outside world. The texture of the wall feels a magnify stiff piece of fabric encasing the house. www.alejandrodelasota.org/03_01_01.cfm?id=200 (English version)
